U of S Computer Museum – Year in Review (2011-12)

Thanks to the always-generous support of the University community, the Computer Museum enjoyed its best and most productive year on record.  2011-12 saw the following accomplishments take place:

-          Passing of a set of four written policies to help guide the Museum board members in their regular activities.

-          Staging one of our largest permanent installations in the college of Engineering, the Spinks building and re-vitalizing the space held in the Thorvaldson building.

-          Purging our vast storage spaces of redundant or unnecessary assets (a significant undertaking!).

-          The grand re-opening of a completely new Computer Museum website with a self-guided tour map.

In the next year, we hope to secure new permanent display space in buildings where we do not currently have a physical presence.  On top of this, we will begin to again catalogue our collection and engage interested students and staff in our preservation efforts.

As always, if you would like to be a part of the Museum’s 2012-13 activities, please do not hesitate to contact us at any time.  We are continuously looking for energetic individuals with similar interests to assist in helping the Museum achieve its goals.  Thank you for taking the time to visit our site.
